Looks like I got the best buy of the day!
Good one. I now have another drive ahead of me, Townsville this time.

what did you get
Lot 15 FFR without tarp at Minto closing bid $6,209

Would be interested to find out what the bird is and what unit it belongs to?  No log books.

But I suspect its had a recent re-build or engine replacement.

That may be a problem!

I only have:
  • 1 x AWA PRC F1 (with complete F2 kit)
  • 1 x AN/GRC-106
  • 3 x AN/PRC-77
  • 4 x AN/MT-1029
  • 1 x AN/AM-2060
  • 3 radio tables
  • Antenna systems for above.
But no airband radios or antenna systems  :'(

But I do have a 28V CAV alternator to replace the one missing on the vehicle,

Note: the above radios are in addition to the radio kit in FFReddy the SIII and do not include the AN/PRC-10 for the buggy (courtesy of Lucipla (thank you again)) Thomson TRC-300/PRC, Clansman UK/PRC-320, UK/PRC-349, UK/PRC-350, UK/PRC-351/352

As promised I have sat in front of my keyboard for far too many hours crunching the numbers across all* the auctions (*all the ones I had auction numbers for - I may have missed a few).  The cat managed to take out some of my earlier data fields and I lost some ARN details, but I now have a spread sheet with almost all the lots by Vehicle type, ARN, km travelled, Auction number, Location, and total bid and paid (with 16% add on).  For those who are interested these auctions have cleared $21,000,000 so far.

From this I have created quite a number of graphs for the landies on sale to give an 'indication' of the direction things are heading. Please note - I have not quite done this the way I normally would (taking out high and low values from each auction etc to rationalise the results or factoring in the relative use of the vehicle - low km = higher dollars), but it is still pretty useful.

And here are the 6x6 figures for those who like their trucks BIG

Note - not everything got a graph. If there have been less than five sold I didn't bother.

I will do ones for the trucks (mog/macks/Primes) next week.

In my spreadsheet I have also marked some of what I am calling the 'best buys' which have been IMHO:
- International Prime mover for $39,000 with only 24000km on the clock,
- Soft Top Cargo 4x4 for $7300 with only 5000km,
- incomplete Soft Top Cargo 4x4 picked up for $3000 that looked like it needed very little by way of repair,
- most of the 6x6 Air Def (great buys),
- Mack Flat Top with Crane for $30,000 that was close to brand new, and
- a Unimog Cargo Crane for only $22000

Lot #35 at Minto the MilPo one has a throw away chassis. It has ripples on the inside and outside of the RHS rail all the way from the spring mount to the fuel tank and kinking on the underside.  The radius rod is bent into the shape of an "S". I would warrant that the front diff housing is bent.

The drivers door lock had to be destroyed to open the door, so there is likely warping in the firewall.

A few other bits missing on the engine, air cleaner and dash.  drivers seat head rest rusted through so I would be suspect on the seat frame too.

No roof rack, no tarp and no service book.
Saw this vehicle today driving west through Lithgow, on it's way to Gulgong. Not surprisingly, it was on the back of a semi-trailer!

I see many of the NT No5 offerings come with a Split Rim as a spare. 0026-8001494 even comes with bonus RFSV parts! Almost worth the drive at that price.

Stephen - did the 5 door look like it might be part of our next batch? I would actually like one of these so might have to wait

Also - from VIC

the two RFSV are both OK - but lot 3 looks to have had a better life :)
The others are a mixed bag. All the low km vehs had Speedo changes at +100,000km so good luck trying to work out actual km wityhout seeing a log book. The 6x6 Ambo looked good as did the Cargo. I liked lot 6 (as too do the bidders who went today it appears from the bid history) as the pick of what is actually a pretty good straight bunch. Less oil leaks and other issues across the board this time.
