Well my childhood dreams have been realised.  I bought  51-760 a RSFV  It was right at my walk away point and had to wait until 4:55.37 PM for it to be mine.  With days like today i can't wait to take the top off and cruise around the scrub in it

Just thought I'd post up a screenshot of some of the auction results of the 6x6's I was looking at. Had a bid on three of them but I was really looking for one to dismantle for spares to future proof my 6x6 Air Defence, so theses prices were right up there.
The Infantry Carrier that went for nearly $37k in Melbourne was still cheaper than one in the July auction in Sydney, but it only had 192km showing.

 G'day Carzee  :)

Well you got yourself a 110  :) bit quicker than the 2a SWB,
50-257  still with the 24v CAV alternator  :) tables and all, even the chook seats, all you need is the radios or the cases to make it look real, just fit a DVD player in the cases and you will have music/video for displays  ;D

Excellent pickup .. had a crawl over it Saturday .. nice unit.  If I didn't already have my FFR would have helped Frontline and Grays realise some more $$$$ :) :)

Congrats Boxy!
Looks like a fair vehicle at a great price.
A bit late now, but make sure you check the chassis just forward of the rear axle.
a B Coy, 51 FNQR (IIRC) vehicle like that might have some repairs there.
Have fun and prepare for the "Wow! That's cool" onslaught. oh, and get some deep heat for your jaw, too much smiling will cause some pain ;))
Kind Regards, Barefoot Dave.

Congrats Adam, and you're very welcome to join REMLR anytime. That price was excellent, a gift. I had my attention on one vehicle as you do, it was pretty intense, and didn't watch the RFSVs. I brought a V8 cop car at auctions in Fivedock in '93 and that was way less stressy. That one was "any colour you like as long as its white" and this one was "any colour as long as its cam".

Hope to see you at Corowa next march. You could convoy with other RFSVs and maybe a SRV too. Too cool for school as they used to say.

Start your own thread or blog for your RFSV as the others have done. Is pretty straightforward. Use the 51-670 ARN in the thread title or use its nickname if it has one. Away you go then, documenting your fixups and adventures etc.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes.

I have just moved back to Western Sydney after 5.5 years NE of Broken Hill.  My new national park i manage is on Campbelltown road only 10 mins from my new RSFV.  cant wait for monday.

Who do you use for a green slip?  Comprehensive insurance?

Cant make it to that this weekend.  I have to go for a drive from Wombeyan Caves to Oakdale via Joorilands for lunch via the W4 fire trail.  Should be a great day it is pretty speccy down in the Burragorang valley.
