Blackout light for IIa
« on: September 16, 2019, 04:51:48 PM »
I've started work again on my Series IIa GS and decided to remove the wings to strip off the 20 or so layers of paint.

The blackout lamp at some point has filled with water so I need to either replace it or find some spare parts.
The front 'peak' is OK and so is the rear section. The glass is cracked but holding together but the reflector has corroded badly and the two rubber gaskets are as hard as rock.

Ideally I'd like a better replacement but seals, reflector & glass would allow me to create a workable one.

It looks like it was based on a Hella reversing lamp, anyone had any luck finding a reversing lamp to donate parts ?
