The sixth sheet has been cut in half and the side locking lugs removed for use as recovery tracks with my Rover. I have a healthy dislike of maxtrax style recovery tracks.

The steel WWII Marsden Matting recovery tracks are cheaper than maxtrax. They are heavier than maxtrax (over 10kg each 1.5m section). Can be used for minor bridging (the aluminium military versions can't). Can't be used as a crappy shovel like maxtrax (most of us carry shovels anyway). Can be used as a makeshift camp table with the addition of some bolt-on/bolt-off legs. Are 1000% cooler than maxtrax, and suit military vehicles better.

I still have to de-rust, prime and paint. I asked for quotes from a few places to get these half-sheets galvanised, but no response, so they don't get my money.

I still have to work out a carrying system for these - I'll probably end up either j-bolting them to the sides of my 110 or perhaps make up a Wolf-style bracket for each side which utilises the FFR "sugar scoop" aerial mount points.
