Perentie 4 x 4 Door Stay
« on: August 07, 2018, 08:20:31 AM »
Hi All,

On Sunday I stopped for petrol in very windy conditions - and when I opened the door it flew open, out of my hands... The result:

The round bolt/washer on the end of the door stay has snapped off.

Can anybody help me with the part number OR happy to purchase from a member if somebody has one?

I did have a look at door stays for 110's & Defenders and the part looks different...

Cheers,
GG.

The County models have the same part. And they are different left to right. I will have the part number in a manual at home but won't be back until Friday. If you don't have any luck with a number before then I will dig it out when I get home.

Thanks Bearman,

I downloaded the parts manual from REMLR - and I believe the part number that I want is "MUC1888"

Thanks for that... (I should have thought of the parts manual earlier)

From what I have found, it's not cheap - about $55..  :o

Is is just a small ball bearing on the end of that. You could probably put it back on and drill and tap a thread into the top of the arm and put a small bolt and washer in it to hold the bearing in place.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for the offer - but I've already purchased a new replacement unit and installed. The new unit is a slightly different design (better made and the problem shouldn't happen again because of it). I also repaired the old unit by re-fitting the top "hat", and re-splaying it... :)

Cheers guys - thanks for the help.
