FFR Blackout switch short out
« on: July 05, 2018, 08:57:00 PM »
I've incurred an issue behind the blackout switch which has lead to a short. From this, the brown cable has bridged from the bottom of the switch to the steel backing plate of the lower dash assembly. I isolated the battery after noticing smoke coming from behind my console and the starter motor which was trying to turn over whilst been away from the car (headlights were left on with keys in ignition). This has caused the large diameter brown cable to fry through the cable down towards the Y junction, before the fuse box. I've separated and isolated any cables fused together during the issues occurrence. Before replacing the main damaged brown cable and attempting to repair any other damaged cables, I'm just seeking some guidance or knowledge from those who may have more experience regarding this issue.

Thanks,
