I met Bill at the Post office for an item when passing thru town earlier this month. He had checked around for Bergen pack frames. No luck there; more NOS Bergen packs (perhaps 3 dz dated 1985) but no more frames for them unfortunately. They are very good design packs ($$ expensive) and the frame is a simple looking A design. Opportunity for a al welder there perhaps.

He mentioned he would hold an auction to clear the shed in June. He mentioned someone in the family wants to cash up their part of the property. Its to be sold off. Must've been there 50+ years or more.

Carzee I've got a 1966-dated "Rucksack", the Aussie-made variant of the British Pattern 42 Bergan.

If you can get hold of a cheap-as-chips Paddy Pallin A-Frame rucksack off ebay or gumtree you'll be able to use the frame with your Bergan. The frames off my Patt 42 Bergan and Paddymade Deluxe Federation are interchangeable. Keeping the existing Paddymade straps will make it serviceable right off the bat, or if you want to make up some Mills webbing straps it wouldn't be too hard.

And "Multi Metres" (I wonder if they will fit in the shed?) and "Navy Birthing ropes" (don't they use forceps like other Ob/Gyn depts?)
