lt95a into a 101
« on: April 08, 2018, 09:06:52 PM »
Gday All

just wondering if a perentie lt95 will fit into a 101. the bellhousing/input and the high/low selector seem to be the only differences but not sure if they are interchangeable. any input would be welcome.

Cheers Gaz

No reason why not, a couple of other detail differences such as higher hi ratio, (might be desirable,) gearstick will require swapping and the handbrake/actuator for the handbrake is different.

Hi range could be changed but not so easy requiring more detailed work.

With a few modifications it will fit in beautifully Gaz. I have done one for a customer. All you have to do is change the input shaft and the bell housing ( both are shorter and still available in the UK), remove the extension sleeve on the input shaft cover and change the gear levers. You can change the transfer gearing if you want but 0.996 runs fine in there. Other than those few differences they are an identical setup.

Hi Gary - where you been hiding - haven't seen on here or AULRO for a while.

I take it you still have got your 101 - have you mucked up your gearbox?  I cannot remember if you had a winch, if so you will need to pull the drive out of your old box to put in the new one as they are completely different.

Take care

Garry

Gday Brian thanks for the reply. that info is great news indeed.will use that info when I get around to changing the boxes.

Gday Garry. Yes its been a while,i dont tend to post much these days but try to keep up with 101 related posts. yes still have the old girl just haven't used it for a year or so. the box is ok just needs oil leaks fixed etc and I just like the idea of the taper bearing intermediate shaft so thought why not upgrade the box while its out. I think I read somewhere you can drill the perentie box and fit the oil dip stick from the 101 box but not 100 percent sure.
