Discussion of Treasurer's Report.

The Treasurers Report was accepted (GC/RG) with thanks. The meeting discussed items of the report.

Comments were made on the shop activity this year. The sale of drink mugs initiated by Alan Logue was popular and enjoyed very good opinions.

Some discussion followed about expanding and altering the REMLR Shop items: eg., could we do a REMLR mug? A REMLR "20" Tac, "20" mug, patch? The meeting approved an approach to Alan and others to investigate options and obtain quotations.

The meeting also discussed selling REMLR hats at the Swap Meet and at other events this year such as Menangle and Clarencetown. It was agreed to do so.

The meeting discussed whether the Membership Fee should be increased but include a REMLR cloth patch as is the norm in some other clubs. Or maybe a Tac sticker set? The members disagreed with the idea and agreed a low fee is a good idea and to keep Shop items separate.

The meeting discussed the Bank Balance and what the funds were being accumulated for? The funds were building up as there were no substantial expenses during the year. The comments went to perhaps a future Insurance Liability premium for a special event but that nothing had been decided. One estimate was that a Insurance premium would cost $600 at a minimum.

The "future event" discussion was agreed to be important and to be put on the forum and discussed by all the membership with other topics as well: Some members have timing conflicts with existing events - when would we fit an event in to the Calendar and where would it be held? An event requires a lot of volunteers and admin too.

Members present discussed the 2018 Corowa Swim-In which will be “The Year Of The Land Rover” and the fact that the Corowa event in March will be just a short while before the Australian “70th Anniversary Of Land Rover Event”, in April 2018 (at Easter). At that 70th Anniversary, it will be 20 years since REMLR began at the Cooma 50th Anniversary, also held at Easter.

Members discussed funding a REMLR Trophy for the 70th Anniversary. This then began discussion of eligibility for the trophy - Australian use + Military + Condition + story? Again it was agreed to discuss the proposal on the forum.

Committee members present noted the activities at Corowa 2017 that involved REMLR. Mick Morissey successfully organised a Overnight Convoy Run to Blighty (in the Riverina). The event had generated a lot of enthusiasm and been very enjoyable with a minimum of fuss. Also a 30th Anniversary of The Perentie Tac had been produced by Rod from Toowoomba. It was agreed to ask Rod about a REMLR 20 Tac sticker, a simple "20" over red and yellow blocks perhaps.

There being no other business the Annual General Meeting was closed by The Chair at approximately 6pm.

(Minutes taken by Ross Carswell).

Thanks Geoff.

I think a good start point would be a list of action items from the 2017 AGM, followed by an update from the Committee (or action officer) as to where each point is at.

Cheers.
