The RAEME flag of the MTF-1 vehicle workshop at Tarin Kowt @ 2010.

On top is the famous KFC bucket...  It made finding the workshop easy amongst the chaotic layout of the base.

As most of you would be aware, the Vietnam Veteran's Day held on 18 Aug every year is also the anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan involving 6 RAR on 18 Aug 1966. During this battle we lost 18 soldiers KIA.

Whilst in Tarin Kowt I was privileged to join 6 RAR in commemorating the battle on 18 Aug 2010. At that stage Australia's casualties in Afghanistan was 18 KIA. A coincidence not lost on the attendees.

Lest We Forget.

Here's a composite photo of Multi National Base - Tarin Kowt in 2010. This composite covers about 1/3 of the base's skyline.

The gym is in the foreground.

It's all gone now :)

Cheers.
