FS 64 Shorty 'Castrol'
« on: September 06, 2017, 11:04:13 AM »
I am not the seller, just noting that Castrol, 113-368, is on Gumtree in Melbourne with an ask of $15k.

Good photos on the big screen.

compares to another shorty, Series 2, Tasmania, asking $12.5k

Maybe I should have asked more than $10K for my S2A FFT with radio gear that I just sold (plus a number 5 for $500). Still, buyer is happy, seller is happy so all is good!

It's all about desirability. For some odd reason, the shortys are so much more desirable than a LWB. Common sense would say:

The LWBs are an old vehicle. Only worth around $1500. SWBs are smaller so are only worth around $1000. Gunbuggys are half a SWB so are only worth $500.

We know this is not the case. LWBs are getting about $1200 to $3000. SWBs are getting about $4000 to $15000 and Gunbuggys, the last one I saw advertised, a price of $20,000 was placed on it.

I would like to point out, if anyone has a Gunbuggy for sale for $500, I have cash waiting.

The add is gone. It's marked up as sold on gumtree.... I'd really like to know if that was the case, or if it was just noted as such when withdrawn.

If sold, all the best to the new owner. She should be a beaut to drive.

Frankly, the marked up as sold bit on gumtree is bordering on the deceptive, as often they are not. Gumtree ought to be put on notice to provide an explanation to potential buyers. These SWB 2a are however extremely desirable and bringing big money, so it may well be sold in this case.
