Well spotted and great info on the genset.

ARNs...
The trailer on the wharf has a dent on the front edge of the wheel mudguard. Not much to go on. The May 2006 Astute prep or RTA work would be noted in the trailer logbook.

The GMV logbook and cam pattern may identify the 6x6. Someone on the forum such as Sixty could get forensic on this.... perhaps. Not many GMVs were made.

The photo would be a good addition to the GMV page http://www.remlr.com/perentie-gmv.html

W7 could possibly be from 3CSR (previously HQ COY 3BDE circa early 90's- we used W1 - W8 for our callsigns)

Thx sixty. So that unit in a logbook and a trip to ET in 2006 would narrow it down the possible ARNs a heck of a lot.

Very neat result Diana ...

I moved my handbrake to the front of the RHS frame (needed one cable changed).

I would like to relocate my handbrake also, where did you get the new cable please?

Thanks Dugite,  never would have guessed from their website.

I want to move the handbrake lever forward of the 'C' channel cross piece and fit either a box or firewood basket or maybe a tyre at the front.

I loaded the single axle Haulmark trailer this week with 700kg. The maximum payload is 750kg. At the supplier I was weighed on a weighbridge going in (empty) and weighed again going out, after getting loaded. Soil, gravel, sand, and compost is what they sell.

I took the photo to show how much the loaded springs move, how much the wheel travels up into the mudguard when loaded near the maximum. The movement was about 50mm.

I think that means, if you change the bodywork, if you take off the original "box" and install a full-width camper body or ATV carrier setup or something, the wheelwell needn't be half as high as the original mudguard. Or is that a wrong assumption?

Boxes loaded -returning home from Corowa.

Please disregard the little ladder. This photo is show how Trimcasts fit the single axle box trailer. The Haulmark box is seemingly made for these. A little more length to the trailer box and the last Trimcasts (on the sides) could sit flat as the others are.

The Trimcast locker box at the front is 1100mm long, 550mm wide and 450mm high.

The half size Trimcasts in the middle are 550mm long, 550mm wide and 450mm high.

Closest to the tailgate are the quarter size Trimcasts, loaded on their sides not their bases. The four of them are the 550mm long and 550mm wide Trimcast boxes (which are half height - 225mm high).

This VIN problem has arisen before. It seems like the option of having Haulmark reinstate the VIN is no longer available.

I know that some owners have taken the course of obtaining a new VIN (similar to what is done with an unnumbered No.5) and applied that on a metal plate secured over the Haulmark VIN. The data plate with the orig VIN is removed and stored to save confusion.

It saves some mucking about.
That is really odd.
That is "rebirthing" which is frowned upon in a big way in Victoria. If there has been a change in policy, it has been changed in the last few weeks. I know of two Haulmark trailers that were registered a few weeks ago without these troubles. They just had to wait a few days for the VINs to be loaded.
I bought my trailer 2nd hand (ie not from Aust Frontline) from a seller who had previously registered the trailer in Vic. The original Haulmark VIN had expired, and rather than re-activate it, a new one was issued. The original plate was removed, and the chassis stamping was obliterated. A generic trailer VIN plate was applied and a new number stamped into the chassis. The seller said this was at the insistence of VicRoads.

The original Haulmark VIN had expired, and rather than re-activate it, a new one was issued.
I suspect that was because it takes a little time for the old VIN to be reactivated. I suspect the previous owner was a little impatient.
When Peter registered his trailer, the paperwork and inspections were done, Peter was advised to come back later. He did and collected his plates.
As with any government department, it all depends on who you talk to and what you say.
