After the forensic VIN detectives in Canberra were finished with the paperwork (40minutes all up), the national dbase in Sydney processed the VIN entry in about 2hours (got a phone call), and in the afternoon I got a numberplate. This rego process took 2 weeks from when I got a roadworthy as the inspectors are booked well in advance doing heavy transport in the main, of course.

This VIN problem has arisen before. It seems like the option of having Haulmark reinstate the VIN is no longer available.

I know that some owners have taken the course of obtaining a new VIN (similar to what is done with an unnumbered No.5) and applied that on a metal plate secured over the Haulmark VIN. The data plate with the orig VIN is removed and stored to save confusion.

It saves some mucking about.

Hmmm, there is a Haulmark PT2 trailer thing at Minto at the moment and they are having troubles with the VIN number on it.
It is slightly damaged, and Haulmark won't give them a letter of compliance like Land Rover will.
Someone might pick up a reasonable trailer at a good price if they can then get a replacement VIN number for it.
Not sure if it is going in this coming auction or the October auction.
What? Both VIN locations are damaged?

Since its the Haulmark page we should add that the Land Rover version of the Haulmarks are being disposed because

A. The track is different for the G-Wagen?
B. The wheel rim, the hub, the offset, the stud pattern, tyre width is different for the G-Wagen?
C. At least dozen years old?
D. Tac Plates & brackets are so passe.

E. No spare.
F. Wheel arches were very susceptible to damage off road.

I mentioned a Haulmark project previously in this thread, well it was modified to address those shortcomings.

Ben from aptfabrication in Queensland attended the LR Expo at Camden and displayed all his LR gear/protection.

To bring down all the parts and to serve as a camping platform, Ben used a Haulmark PT1. He fabricated a rack "pretty quick" to do the camping part. It worked very well and towed ok too.

as issued the PT2 had a spare, the PT1 didn't

I've put a deck on the drawbar of a PT1 to enable spare carriage but there is plenty of room underneath the trailer and I have a spare D1 rear door wheel bracket that I may adapt to that location.

The PT1 document for the Water tank does not show a spare either.
Here is another PT1 in service.

I fitted a spare to my PT1 mainly because I also tow it behind my D4 which has a different PCD, so no it's not an in service mod, but I seem to remember a comment recently about one of the problems of the PT1 is that it doesn't have a spare.

The mounting on mine is the rear door spare wheel bracket from a Disco 1 (as you suggest), it is mounted onto a frame made from 50x50 angle fixed to the cross member at the front of the tub and to the cross member in the A frame between the coupling and tub.  By having the open side of the D1 bracket pointing forward means I can reach under the spare to operate the hand brake.

Very neat result Diana ...

I moved my handbrake to the front of the RHS frame (needed one cable changed).

Can we work out from other photos what the ACTUAL arn is, for either the Perentie or PT2-2?

And the PT2-2 trailers were conceived and designed to carry an Advanced Power APD016 16kVa 3Ph diesel genset, as pictured in the Navy pic. Some of these have been sold off through Mannheims if you need to complete your trailer:
