« on: July 10, 2017, 06:26:55 PM »
What was the original colour of the radiator?
Mine has jus bee re-cored. It came back black.
When it was removed, it was DBG on the back and OD on the front.

I believe the tanks were a low shine black and the core was like a matt dark grey but almost a black if you are referring to a Perentie.

No, not a Perentie. Their radiators were black and the vehicle was never DBG.
I'm asking about an International No1 Mk3. That is why I posted it in the "International Truck Chat" area of the forum.

Hi, I missed that you were posting about an Inter too. :)
When I check the forum, I usually hit the "Show unread posts since last visit" link up the top. Didn't spot that it was the Inter thread.

A while back, when I had my MK3 radiator re-cored, I also noticed that mine was DBG on the back and OD on the front.
My F1 is OD on the front and a dusty, faded black on the back. No sign of the DBG anywhere on the truck though, so maybe it was put in service after the Army changed to OD and the MK3's that were in service at the time of the change just got a quick respray.

I gave the re-cored unit a coat of OD on the tanks and sides, and a light spray across the core as I didn't want to insulate the metal or reduce the airflow.

Greg.
