Help with 110 gs markings
« on: March 29, 2017, 04:40:43 PM »
Hi all, i purchased a 110 gs with winch in one of the earlier releases and never got the arn or log books. It has a what appears to be a 3 headed dragon on the rear left behind the jerry can as pictured and crossed swords with a small rising sun on the tac plate. Any help on the vehicles history would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps not related, but the Land Warfare Centre (previously known as the Jungle Training Centre) has a very similar 6 headed dragon...

Cheers...

It is Cerberus the three headed dog that guards the gates in Greek Mythology.

I'm pretty sure the TAC plate is the 3 Div formation sign. I'd check out the units within that Division. I have a suspicion it maybe a artillery unit ?

Don't quote me ?

Thanks Mick.... right you are about it being a Cerberus. Good call. Any know where abouts i could do some research on 3 Div. I couldn't see any 111 on the tac plate at closer inspection but seems like a good place to start. Cheers!!

Hi Gianna,

I'd probably start on the army web page and looking up the army order of battle (ORBAT)  and  then Google units within the 3rd Division (formation). It might lead you somewhere.

Good luck 👍
