I picked up a 2a SWB 88" a couple of years ago ostensibly for parts but subsequently I've ended up slowly getting it back to in one piece. Now just about completed. However, as it was not registered and came with no paperwork (although Service SA, did tell me the registrations showed it had been defected in 1993), no evidence of a chassis number. I can locate the engine number fine and the internal plate in the dash shows the chassis number, however I cannot locate a number on the actual chassis. Normally I would have looked on the passenger side spring hanger, BUT, as this has the modified lower front hangers (I assume standard military here) this would cover where it normally is. Any clues please? I'be looked on the rear LH Hanger too...nothing. Again its a 1963 June 2a Australian Made 88" with bug eyes, and as far as I can see pretty much untouched from original.
