Yes.
I've seen that somewhere before, on another ex army Landrover.
They moved the lights on top of the guards out of the way of the jerry cans.

Can't recall what it was used for, it's purpose.

Lots of civvy LR had the jerry cans in front of the mudguards starting in series 1.   Think the Oxbridge "First Overland" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRB1ZADb_w4

What I find interesting is the colour of the brushguard and bracket, also remembering that the S2 command recon didn't originally have brush guards.

I wonder if it was a prototype bar or even post service jobbie?

Yes interesting. It's also steel not Gal and appears to be on backwards. Look at the second upright the bolt hole points forward.

I had a GS years ago with a similar steel one, it looked like an army made one perhaps ran out of replacements and banged one out of mild steel.
Lots...............

Hi Scott

Lots of questions, but very few answers.

I have a SIIB F/C which was painted in olive drab by the second owner and he produced a brushguard for the F/C based on the PMC brushguard design.  The way you know its not original is the thickness of the flat bar elements and the lack of galvanising.
