I doubt they'd be kept in stock, but they are just flat glass, so would be cut to size in store.

Thanks, Iam thinking there must have been a supplier to the ADF, Iam trying to avoid having one cut to size for cost.

Dave, check with the normal suppliers. I got one done through O'Briens and they had them in stock.

Thanks Brian, that's encouraging, I would think the army would have gone through a few windscreens, someone has to supply them. Dave

The 4x4 windscreen change also involves a change of the surrounding rubber moulding. But that was a Defender cab. The 6x6 is a custom Australian cab and I'd like to know if a 6x6 windscreen change only involves new glass and normal windscreen sealant (from a tube)?

Hi Ross my understanding was that if the seal is not damaged and does not get damaged when removing old windscreen it was ok, but I also have not had to replace a windscreen in LR before. O'briens and National windscreens do have them in stock both 4x4 and 6x6, the 6x6 is $365 though it is china glass and they say to their knowledge that is all that is available now.

I have had the windscreen replaced in my '99 Defender twice. First time the rubber was replaced as it had dried out but the second time it was fine. Just depends on its condition. Most of the Perenties, being at least 27 years old, probably need the rubber done.

I had the glass done on a 6x6 local chap around $250. The seal they said was in stock but at some silly price of $900.

For what the 4x4 screen seals coast would always be worth putting a new one in. They tend to split on the corners when older.

Dave, the 6x6 has a totally different seal to the 4x4 and is very easy to install new glass. The repairman who did mine did my 4x4 and 6x6 at the same time and it took less than half the time to do the 6x6 and then he used a little sikaflex at the bottom where the rubber joint was. Very easy. The 6by seal is not moulded like the 4x4 one.

The 6x6 seal appears to be a fairly generic glass seal it would be rude of them to charge so much, mine looks ok, so I will see. thanks to all.
