Just set up those screen grabs as the start of a "REMLR wiki help" thread:

I just gave it a go; seems easy enough!

Looks on the money, congrats.
And I'd forgotten how fresh your 48010 canopy was at the auction. Where'd it go to?

The canopy was brand new; it had been made in March 2013 but probably only put on the vehicle just before it was sent for disposal. It hasn't gone anywhere (or rather it has gone everywhere 48-010 has gone), but after only a few months it faded badly. It was the alarming rate of decay of the canvas that triggered the search for the cab. I was going to store this canvas away for special occasions, but I figure I'll just let this one die and then have a plain green one made to replace it. I've heard a plain green will last much better. In short, it's still on the vehicle with the part over the driver rolled up behind the cab.

yesterday I was looking over a GS with a very neat faded canopy. Every stitch was good, as new, no wear to see at all. New ropes etc., but it gone very greyish and lost the green look except under flaps where its like brand new.
So its not only yours fading fast...

Hi Dervish

A bit off topic for this thread. But your canopy will be as good as new from the canvas point of view it's just the ink that is printed on to give the hex pattern unfortunately it is very unstable in uv. There are two manufacturers of the raw material one fades silver the other Orange

Green canvas won't fade much as it is a die not ink printed.  It is also more appropriate for 48 010

Cheers

Richard,

What do you think about having a 'Glossary' section ?

Perhaps with sub-sections of 'Definitions' and 'Abbreviations' ?

Both of these areas are a bit of a mystery to newcomers without a military background.

Cheers,

Pete

We do have an abbreviations section on the main website, but hte wiki where people are able to add to it is a great idea, somebody put it up and i'll link it on the main mage.

I have added some abbreviations (hopefully without typos) and I'm asking for others to add some.
