Isuzu 4BD1 and 4BD1-T parts vendors
« on: March 31, 2015, 01:02:06 PM »
Seeing that our 110s are powered by Isuzu engines there are a variety of non-Land Rover parts vendors we can use.

Which vendors have members been using and finding good prices or service.

I have previously used Patterson-Cheney the Isuzu dealer in Dandenong for mail order.  truckparts@pattersoncheney.com.au who else is there?

Gilbert and Roach at Narellan. They took the somewhat obscure part numbers (acoustic cover rubberised washers, the various exhaust manifold studs etc) without protest and a few days later called to say they'd arrived. The prices were good, the counter service is about usual for a truck parts place; get in, collect order, get out.

Gilbert and Roach, Huntingwood. Ask for Dick. He knows where the Land Rover parts books are.
Otherwise same experience as Dervish had.

Their RX Super is Super expensive though!

Hi D

If you have no joy down there give me a PM and Ill give you a contact up here in Brisbane that always has a choice of new and used 4DB1 including  the Turbo.

I assume this is for your turbo conversion engine? Cant say much on the new prices but they seem to be able to get any used part I've asked for. If they don't post Ill pick it up and mail it down for you.

I have a new turbo manifold and rebuilt turbo that appears to be the same as the OEM one on the 6x6.  What I don't have is the gaskets and the outlet pipe on the exhaust side, but will also need the oil and water fittings.

After travelling down to Corowa in the 110 with loaded Haulmark, was generally happy with the road speed.  Was able to keep pace with an RFSV until we got to hills and then he left me in his dust.  Have decided to fit the OEM turbo to the FFR and get one of KLR's system for the Defender 6X6.

While I live about one K from National Truck Spares and Suttons Trucks, neither are in my favour.

So what are you after #8 I assume?

Could you not get a Mobile hose Dr. to do the water & oil plumbing for you? Im getting my brake lines done by a mobile service after LR wants over $300 for the line that runs from the M/cylinder to the drivers side front wheel, distance less than 1 meter!

The gaskets I need are 1 (2 off) and 7

My turbo looks a little different to that drawing so the oultet pipe/bend ( 8 ) may not fit!  Any ideal

Mine looks something like this.

I bought the exhaust manifold gaskets (number 1) you're after from G&R. Just remember the part that says TOP on the gasket goes at the bottom  ::) I assume you've also checked that the exhaust manifold studs are the same for the turbo manifold? I think at least a few are different.

Bought the same parts from our local Isuzu truck parts department.
I would also suggest you get the manifold skimmed before you fit your new parts. Also renew all studs on turbo vehicles, they do get a fair work out in relation to non turbo engines.

I have a new Isuzu manifold, is there a problem with Isuzu quality control or do I need to get something else skimmed?

Will get the studs as you suggest!  :)

No, new manifold is perfect, just fit it, its a suggestion when reusing the same manifold and has a leak and getting repaired then a skim is very good insurance for longevity.
