Hi Pete,

Sorry to hear about the set back. What are your chances of making Corowa this year ?

At least the bright side is if you don't get missy up now she'll be a sure thing for 2018.

Good luck with the repair.

Cheers,

Mick

While the gearbox is being done, I'll get the transfer case done as well... but with these nice new gear sets and cover plate ;D

Thanks Mr Ashcroft and Mr Rovercraft :)

Cheers.

Hey Pete,

As a matter of interest, what is a gear box and T case overhaul worth ?

She'll be good for another generation or two I'm sure.

Cheers,

Mick

I'll find out when she goes in Mick.  That gear set is the Ashcroft 'high speed' kit. It's $401 delivered, but doesn't include the bearings. Add to this the cost of labour and I believe my transfer case will need a little machining as well.

Oh... I'm not sure if that new GST thingie is in place yet for below $1K imports ? If so, then add $40 to the cost of the Ashcroft kit.

A WAG at the moment is $1200-1500 for the transfer case. The gearbox will depend on what damage was done by that crap bearing....

Cheers.

 Thanks Pete,

I'd be interested to know end cost.

She'll be like new when she's all done.

Good luck 👍

I vote for the front guard. Great markings on the item. Whats the source of it, unit museum?
Also where and when is that bottom photo taken. The trailer is interesting to say the least.

Hi Pete,

For all its worth I like the rear mount and it doesn't interfere with the tool brackets .

Looking forward to seeing the finished job.

Good luck

I think you’re right Mick. There’s also a bit of weight in it and could cause a few fatigue issues with the guard.

Cheers
