OK might be able to help a little

DNSDC = Defence National Storage Distribution Centre, it is located at Moorebank, simply main storage and distribution area for Army

the rising sun stencil normally has a number in the centre and generally associated with CSSB - Combat Services Support Battalions, the number represents which Battalion,

someone else may know more

regards
Scott

For the number on top of the "Christmas Tree"  refer to Restoration Info.
Vehicle Markings.

Lotsa info on the website.  Lotsa reading for every newbie.
All the answers in the world will be forthcoming.

8053 is in the CSSB Unit region.  But will need some sleuthing.

Specifically this page deals with vehicle markings, always adding to what is there though.

Sorry found it...Establishment Registering Number, this big word don't make sense to me.

Hi Rangy,

All a ERN is , is a number used primarily by logistic staff as a simple way to identify units , accounting for stores and equipment, assists in issuing, and management etc.

The unit ERN is a 5 digit number with the first 4 numbers used on the Christmas tree.

I wasn't a blanket folder so that's about the best answer I can give.
