Perentie in-service Mods and MOD Plates
« on: July 06, 2014, 07:44:50 PM »
I have been looking into Perentie MOD plates this weekend as I'm stuck in Singapore with work.

The highest number I've seen struck out on a 4x4 Perentie MOD plate is 32 (and 36 on a 6x6) - that's an awful lot, given the number of mods I can think of. So far I have just six:

- Modified brushguard
- Side locker changed from hasp to square key
- OD to Auscam (?)
- Extra tie down points on side of tub
- Near-Infra Red Reflectance paint
- Fuse box changed from barrel fuses to blade

Even so, I presumed that I would be able to quickly identify the MOD no. associated with the modified brushguard as it's easy to see which vehicles on the past Grey's auctions have them and the MOD plate is visible in the additional photos PDFs. No numbers line up. The only match I could not disprove is NIRR Paint being number 4, but that seems a very low number for it.

So how can we figure out what MOD numbers mean what?

Wow, I should've just asked! Thanks Minikeg, that's brilliant.

Makes sense that I couldn't find a number for the brushguard - there isn't one, which is odd. It seems someone has been lazy with 48-010, it has a fair number of those mods but only 6 marked!  >:(

Dervish,
none of the changes you listed are 'mods'. They are later models and/or parts.

Thanks Sixty, I can follow the logic now that I've seen the list. I thought the mods might include the changes to the Perentie throughout its production, now I know they don't. Still an interesting list though.

Would anyone happen to have the mod list for the No.5 Trailer?
