Oven Switch,

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ex-Army-Convoy-Sidelight-Tail-Light-Switch-/281055944576?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item41703d5f80
Actually it's the switch used on the SII Command Recon and the Brit MoD 80" - doesn't Cookey have a MoD 1950 80" he's building back up?

Diggers got at least one on one of his 2a 88" GS's, and seen on several other 2a's of various nomenclature.
Seems they were recycled through the parts bin as necessary.

Not having seen what 'Digger' may have in his Land Rover, but it's more likely this type aka "Stove switch" as fitted to my gunbuggy
http://i659.photobucket.com/albums/uu319/DJM110/BuggyBitz023.jpg
the switch on ebay is what was (as Diana said) fitted to Oz S2 C/R, all it does is turn on/off the rear convoy light situated up under the back of the Land Rover and nothing else, the S2A had the first (real) convoy light switch.
I did send a message to Minikeg about this item as he could have required it for his S2 C/R, anyway I digress cheers Dennis :)

Definitely the switch on E-bay, and seems to be fitted from time of disposal.

Maybe just grabbed a spare for filling the hole?

Seem's like we have covered this ground before, as I was the 2nd posting in that link about the switch LOL, makes you wonder how on earth it got fitted to a S2A when they would have been fitted with the proper blackout switch, another mystery lost in time, cheers Dennis

The first time I saw that type of switch it was on a photo of the ex-MoD 80" used in the Great Train Robbery.  The switch was originally mounted on a bracket below the rear cross member where it proved vulnerable to damage.  In later 1950 80" they were mounted on the firewall between the steering column and the instrument panel.

I have seen them on early SII command recon and Bobslandies had one on a DBG panel that came from Monty Moore's Parkside Motors.  In the 1960s and 1970's Monty Moore was one of the largest dealers of ex-government Land Rovers in Sydney.

This is the switch on my CR (now sold to another REMLR member)

That is the switch I'm talking about and was the switch on the sand coloured panel that Dave suggested was a stove switch.

I believe so, and I also believe that there are two types of the switch lever a fat one and a fine one as in this ebay sale.

Other than that the only difference in this ebay item is that the assembly is rotated by 1/3 of a turn.
