Interesting non Standard tac signs.
« on: September 16, 2013, 09:05:22 AM »
One of the recent vehicles coming through Greys AFM auctions had an interesting tac/formation signage.

It has the Australian Army "Rising Sun" and the Training Command colours with 917 serial of the School of Arty.

Is this a new VSOPS?  Previous schemes would have had the Training Command formation sign and the RAA Corps colours with the School serial.  I guess things must change under low vis signage.

Training Command was killed off a few years ago. That role is now performed by Training Branch, which is part of Forces Command.

The rising sun forms part of the Forces Command shoulder patch (so too the rat over crossed swords)...

Sooo.... that might be it... maybe...

Yep... Pretty safe to assume that units that belong to TB kept the TC tac sign.

I guess they haven't got the RAA espirit d'corps yet and used the red/blue.  But I guess green and yellow is almost low vis!  :)
