Which fire extinguisher did the MK3 have?

I currently have a 1 Kg dry powder extinguisher for my Mk3 but am wondering what was the original type/size?

Also given that the land Rovers used a BCF type, did the Inters ever have a BCF extinguisher?  I have an inert BCF 5Kg and was considering fitting it If its appropriate and I can acquire a bracket.

Last firefighting course I did (in NSW) made it pretty clear not to own a yellow/BCF extinguisher as the fines were huge. No idea about other states, or its 'inert' status

Thanks for that information, but won't be acting on recycling an empty bottle.

I find it amusing that because of CFC's potential Ozone depleting effects, we have converted to CFC alternatives for refrigerants that have 1000 times the Global Warming Potential when compared to LPG (Propane/Isobutane) refrigerants and QANTAS and other airlines are still permitted to have and use large volume BCF extinguishers.

Im guessing finding a bcf extinguisher would be a hard task if there so illegal.

The original extinguisher was  a cabontetrachloride, but was later replaced by the BCF. The question of legality is interesting, because the Constitution says that Government must  "öffer" fair compensation when resuming property. No compo was ever offered  for these, so it could be argued that the laws are invalid... I wouldn't like to take ém on though

What about getting a dry powder extinguisher and painting the top and bottom yellow, leaving the white band?

How often have you seen shiny stainless steel stored pressure water extinguishers.
