Title: Anyone know this one? (Parachute Wings)
Post by: RayMe on January 01, 2020, 01:53:24 PM
Red number 17 superimposed over what looks like the Parachute School badge- or at least parts of it (Chute and wings) diamond suspended under canopy. Believe a black background.  Sunlight hit door at just the right angle to show vehicle markings- first time I had seen this- a bit of a “Raiders of The Lost Ark moment”.  ARN links to a blue book entry showing it had been initially detailed to “3” (Third Div?).  ARN is 50-094. No history know but curious.

Hi, thanks for the pic... what model of Perentie is it ?  Do you have the GM120 (servicing book) ?

The emblem looks to be two seperate ones: 3 RAR underneath and the red 17 could be either 17 Construction Squadron or 17 Sustainment Brigade.

It isn't the emblem of the Parachute Training School.

Cheers.

It’s a MC2 GS (..4218 stock) and I wish I had the GM120!  That would tell it all..  I did get paperwork on the final tech inspection done in Aug of ‘15 before it was sold out of service from Minto.  Owner unit shows 53023.  The ARN puts it pretty close to yours.
