All the bonnet tool holders were in the rear internal boxes, you've got a few spare box dividers in there as well, it's missing a few straps & buckles internally & externally as well, but they can be obtained from Robco.

It still has the original piping for the engine driven air compressor on it (blanked off), but no compressor fitted (either mechanical or electric).

Did you inspect it before bidding?

This wasn't the minto rfsv. It was already out in civvy street. I have 2 pics of it from 2016.

Hi Dopey, you appear to be correct, 51636 was the one that was sold at Minto

must be a bit of deja vu going on ?  :)

i had pics from 'Dranoweb' in Victoria, didn't notice on the thumbnails that they were taken in-service. I was going too quick, too much hurry as usual.

well at least we can surmise from the kms and the gentle location that it wasn't abused overmuch - wasn't "driven hard and put away wet" as they say in the north :)

Hi dopey I sent a mate in Sydney to inspect. He has a perentie and quite a few other series military defenders so I trusted his judgement

Hi carzee cool pics! Yep that’s him in his army life. Looks like he had a very easy lifestyle. My mate went over his books last night and sent me this message:

I spent a fair bit of time going through the log book last night, found some very interesting history. In actual fact it did no go into service until 2009, but the first entry in 2007 at 240 Km the vehicle was part of a Commonwealth Government Directive and for same reason it was totally dismantled and rebuilt, they say that every major component was rebuilt, stripped to bare chassis. I can only assume that it may have been a special programme preparing some vehicles for deployment overseas, may need to do more research, but yours never got overseas.

Yes I was happy to find that out. My FFR was in Townsville getting flogged and going rusty. So I was pleasantly surprised to see the rfsv had an easier life

Yep, thats why I save Facebook pics when warranted - Farcebook is not organised at all -its digital landfill. Then out of nowhere they send you a trip down memory lane with a serving of your own stuff you put up years ago as if to prove how organised they are. :)

I ended up with 2 sets of bonnet brackets. Full set of tools, 2 pintles and a heap of straps and buckles and storage box dividers galore 😂

Cheers.

Chaotic violent wobble in the front end started up at 90kmh. Pulled into tyrepower at Bowral for a balance which cured it enough to get home at100-110kmh the whole way

Could be a good opportunity to take a look at the condition front end bushes and the steering damper

I found the combination of split rims + HighMilers just about impossible to finely balance.

(I reverted to D1 tubeless with BFGs)

Tony,

Mine are awesome on and off-road and same rolling diameter as the hi-milers
255/85r16 mid terrain bfgoodrich

Hi tona, I have 235 85 16 BFG Mud Terrains on Disco1 (tubeless) rims, I've sprayed the rims with Protec drab olive and they don't stand out too much :). Some owners use the tubeless wolf rims but at the time I couldn't get any. Regards - Laurie

:)   THANKS LAURIE, are the new tyres as tall as the hi milers?, I wouldn't like to drop any road speed?/Do those rims comply with requirements??TONA.

I was going to go with BFG KO2 255/85R16 too. I have a set of wolf rims on my FFR. Is there another rim which has a bit more negative offset though as I wouldn’t want the extra 20mm all on the inside to scrub the suspension bits

And does anyone know the offset of the existing split rims vs a wolf rim?

No mate, they aren't as tall, obviously they drop the gearing slightly but I haven't found it to be issue for me when travelling at 100kmh. I did look at the larger diameter 255 BFGs but went with the 7.50 16 equivalent to have common tyres with my 110 County.

I do not know anything about compliance, it has not been an issue with annual inspections for rego here and D1 rims are often seen on 130" LRs  which have the same suspension as the RFSVs

Right you are dugite they got discovered on roadworthy. The right side ballpoint fell out when I pulled the retaining clip out.

Hi tona, I found a very handy tool here https://tiresize.com/wheel-offset-calculator/
Even has a visual of your new setup before you launch into it. I think the standard perentie rim offset is 33mm. Not sure about the rfsv. Have to measure it up
