Title: Isri Seats
Post by: Marlin on April 11, 2018, 03:46:14 PM
Hi all

Would someone be able to advise me on how to remove the head rests from Isri seats in a 4x4 perentie. They are attached with two metal rods that go through a plastic collar in the seat back. I've tried the usual pulling and squeezing the collar, but they do not want to release. Is there a special knack to getting them off? I've bought seat covers and I need to remove the head rests to fit them.

Many Thanks
Jon

Usually they just click out over a detent thingy but a lot of them are frozen in position from moisture ingress. One on my 6x6 won't come out so I put velcro on the bottom of the headrest cover and fitted it over from the top.

Tap one side of the head rest and then the other, gently applying increasing opposing force from the base of the headrest away from the seat - (you can give a squirt of CRC or similar product before applying this technique, have a cuppa and when finished the cuppa - tap again - they all come out).   ;)   Inform your vehicle that "Resistance is futile!"
