Title: Correct spark plug caps for a 63 2a?
Post by: Matt Reeves on April 07, 2018, 08:31:14 PM
Please can anyone advise what make and type of spark plug caps were originally fitted to the early 2A's?.

I'm assuming (possibly wrongly!) that the engines arrived from Solihull complete with plugs and HT leads fitted, or were these sourced once the CKD kits arrived in Australia?.

Thanks,

Matt.

From the parts book Carryall:

Number 35 & 37:  Boot dust & moistuer seal U1030 = Rover Uk

Number 36: Wire Electrical U0328 = Prestwich

Number 38: Suppressor Ingnition U1030 39 Spark plug U1624 = Champion Spark Plug

PS: Look at photo for the numbers in a red circle

In a later Series 2A part list for British Army, the Champion cap was shown as WCX187 and the rubber sleeve with number 572363 (looks like a Rover number).
The only WCX type cap still available is WCX600, which looks the same as the one shown in the previous post attachment.
