Are the military ones the same as the civilian ones, other than the extra holes for a bar.

G'day Folks  :)

Almost the same bumper, the holes are in the same place all 4 of them, but. the late 2a lights in guards the bumper is slightly wider and the verticle bar spacing differs slightly to allow the headlight to be in the correct aperture, the early headlights in radiator panel up to and including Suffix "D" is 1520mm and the later Suffix "G" headlights in guards is 1600mm so the later one is 80mm wider.

I have both and have just gone out and measured  ;)

oh bugger, so the late 2a bumper is a bit of a rare beast, or wait for it, its the same as a series 3 one???????

I could do with one, if anybody got one for sale...

Hi Juddy,

No series 3 bumpers are different from S2A's in that S3 are bolted onto the chassis from the front and S2 from the top , as the chassis are very different.

Check out he photo of my series 3, the four bolts (each side)are what holds the bumper on, as well as the helicopter lifts and in the FFR's also the muffler protector.

I got a fabricator to modify a really good S3 bumper (he changed the mounting points) to put on my 2a after I couldn't find a good one at the wreckers.

Close neighbour then told me he got a brand new bar for his S2 from that place in Victoria (Blackburn 4x4??)
