There were 4 converted for the NZ contingent of the UNPROFOR mission to Boznia in 1993. There IS photographic evidence that at least one of them DID go to Bosnia, painted white with UN markings. This vehicle did not return to NZ. There are 3 others are still known to exist, and all are still painted in NZ Army green.

All NZ Army Stage 1 Land rovers were soft top petrol V8s, and are either GS or FFR. The 4 specialist vehicles were fitted out with approx 1100Kg of Signals Intelligence equipment (there is NO "Uparmoured" element to the vehicles, it was all electronics and batteries), and needed better protection from the elements (and prying eyes!). This was acheived by fitting civilian Series 3 hardtops and rear doors. To improve logistic compatibility with the rest of the UNPROFOR NZ fleet (Diesel powered Mogs and M113s) some 300Tdi defenders were bought direct from the UK for the UN mission. However, some Stage 1 V8s (including ), were converted with 300Tdi diesels in NZ, including the SigInt vehicles. The increased GVM was accomplished with heavier rear springs with Firestone airbag assistance, and finished off with 10 ply tyres and a kooky (my apologies to the Kiwis, I meant "Innovative") dual rear wheel set up.

Did the 300Tdi get mated to the LT 95 gearbox or did it come with a 77mm box and transfer case ?

No, not at all. You'd have to ask glbest if he has pictures of that one. The pics I've shown are one of the NZ ones that are the topic of this thread.
