Please have a look and post your opinion so we can fine tune things.

The url is:
http://www.youtube.com/user/REMLRvideo
Even better is the url to go straight to the Playlist page, its just a longer address:
http://www.youtube.com/user/REMLRvideo/playlists
What its purpose?
Well, besides some lovely videos to look at covering:
Events
Shows
Convoys
Meetings
...we can make our own videos that maintain the invaluable mechanical skills and experience from amongst our members on HD video. We should preserve and archive the knacks and know-how we have amongst while we can. Who is it for? Well, for those members in 2064 trying to restore a 100 year old Series 2A GS for example -who knows?
Knowledge is king, not the other thing.
Here's some ideas.
What about some straight forward "How to operate "video pams" on
Fire Tender pumps
Mil Radios
101s
Sirens and Beacons
Nato trailer conn wiring? Black out wiring and lights?
Correct canvas care, authentic hood pattern and types, identification etc.
Knacks for gearbox removal and installations etc.
Finding ID marks, eg chassis number on vehicles and trailers.
How to align doors with tubs and guards so it looks factory std after you paint it?
Etc.
Uploading.
Videos you have recorded can be uploaded and referenced to "the Playlist" of the REMLRvideo archive in a couple of alternative ways:
a) after you post your video's URL here (in a post in this thread) and members look it over (similar to how posts include a new photo we all look at). This would require you to open your own youtube account and upload it first.
b) after you send it to REMLRvideo by email or by arrangement using snail-mail on a storage device such as a thumbdrive, a memory card or a dvd after which we will upload it to REMLRvideo.
c) other ways may be developed as well.
Comments from members positive and negative are invited.
Cheers to having our own channel and seeing other club channels pop up such as KVE for example.

Thanks Ross ;D

This thread is for posting comments..
about the videos already "on" the channel
videos you have spotted that could be on REMLRvideo
your own videos you would like to get "on" REMLRvideo

Just to give a illustration of what I mean about ...

Here is a video that is along the lines of what I mean by "video pam":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRD-BhD7yio
Ron operates the Jeep's fittings etc and has close ups of parts, and thats good.
Also he puts text labels on the screen. I'm not sure we are up to that level, but anyway.
I hope that makes the "pam" thing easier to understand.
btw, remember to put on the handbrake :)

Not getting much feedback as yet.
Might have to adjust the antennae. :)
-
Quite a few views but at this stage its only open to registrants so about 20% have looked. :)
-
Well ANZAC Day is coming up, and the AWM Oen Day as well, so we should be well supplied with good videos.

If your girlfriend/partner/spouse has a name other than Pam is that going to be a problem?
-
Pam has already done a video but you will have to send your credit card details to another site to see that one ;D

Perhaps a couple that may be of interest. I realise that they are all MJCQ oriented, but hey, they are pretty active!

Thanks for those videos, looks like a fantastic event. I have linked them all.
Incidentally, all that amphib footage sort of misguided the youtube computer that puts "recommended videos" on the right hand margin.
Guess what it put there for a recommended video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLHP9h8zYD0

Thx, and the icon -Essex- flag is duly noted! (born there)
Such hi-tech for 2014; what would be the job title of the grunt who is under the chinook (of unknown age) manually hooking the sling? Gutsy.

How dry must the air be? Did you notice how big that spark was on the grounding hook/wire before the sling was attached by the ground crew? It had only just taken off! Got to laugh The guy with the water bottle left to right makes the smallest guy lay weigh down the cargo from the rotor wash...
